Las Vegas City Council Resolution R-44-2013:

Committing the City to Increasing Access to Healthy Foods, and Adopting a Food Access Policy and Planning Guide

Las Vegas City Council passed resolution R-44-2013, a resolution committing the city of Las Vegas to increasing access to Healthy Foods and Adopting a food access policy and Planning guide.  Which sounds like a good thing, until you read the details of the resolution in which they plan on dictating through government incentives where and what private businesses can sell certain products.  Furthermore, the resolution talks about "healthy," and "un-healthy" foods- two terms that are completely open for individual interpretation, as well as dictates that community gardens should be encouraged, but regulated as to growing fruits and vegetables that "save water,"  just going to show that even the best of intentions are not free from corruption.  Please take a moment to read the 12 page Food Access Policy and Planning Guide implementation as well as the 3 page resolution to get a better idea on all the UN Agenda 21 elements going on in this resolution.

The city made the decision to strike the regulation regarding limiting certain food establishments in certain food deserts, but we have still not seen the updated resolution.

Testing Drone Technology:
UPDATE ON THE APRIL 17TH MEETING AT CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT THE TESTING OF DRONE TECHNOLOGIES IN NEVADA PASSED IN A UNANIMOUS VOTE.

But not with out one good fight!  Thanks to all those who came to have their voices heard on this issue, the passing of this motion is by no means a failure on our part, if anything, the display at city council should be evidence to all just how much our opinions matter, at the local level especially!
